Der 24. Stuttgarter Filmwinter bricht vom 20. bis 23. Januar 2011 zum letzten Mal in die Räume im Stuttgarter Filmhaus in der Friedrichstraße ein. Alle Stockwerke und der Keller des Hauses werden erstmals bespielt. „Soft Friction“ ist das Motto, das für Reibungswärme, sexuelle Konnotationen, prickelnde Synergien und das medienübergreifende Zusammenwirken von Kunst, Kultur, Film und Neuen Medien stehen soll.

Washington Project for the Arts 2011 Experimental Media Series

Washington Project for the Arts is pleased to present the finalists and venues for the sixth Experimental Media Series. Juried by Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky, the featured works will present the leading edge in sound and video art. Two artists submitting the most compelling entries, as selected by the juror, and based on overall quality and innovation, will be awarded the Kraft Prize for New Media of $750 and the WPA Experimental Art Prize of $750 at The Phillips Collection on January 20, 2011.

About the Juror

Smoke & Mirrors- Lightwell Gallery, Oklahoma/ USA

The exhibition “Smoke and Mirrors” opening Monday, Nov. 29 through Friday, Dec. 10, in the Lightwell Gallery. The opening reception is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3 in the Lightwell Gallery.
Smoke & Mirrors is an exhibition of works that relate to concepts of deception, illusion and the unknown. Projects vary in media and include video, installation, photography, painting and sculpture.
Aaron Finnis, one of the exhibiting artists, will be giving a visiting artist lecture on Monday, Nov. 29.

THE BIG SCREEN PROJECT- NEW YORK/ U.S.A.

Isle Of Lox „The Fruits Electric“ will be featured in n9 Production’s contribution to the Big Screen Project Located on Sixth Avenue between 29th and 30th Street at the Kimpton Hotel. Curated by Mark Ledzian, n9 mag will showcase a collection of fashion films from emerging and established talent from around the world. Together with a blog at n9mag.com, this project intends to introduce the creative community of New York to this new evolving genre.
