THE SEPARATION LOOP & BOOM @ the Celluloidra Revolverrel experimental film festival and conference located in Esztergom/ HUNGARY
International filmmakers and the cream of the Hungarian experimental film scene in Esztergom
On 29-30 August, Celluloidra Revolverrel will organise the first ever experimental film expo in Hungary at the Kaleidoscope House Cultural Centre in Esztergom. Celluloidra Revolverrel is a grassroots academic and artistic platform that aims to organise contemporary Hungarian experimental filmmaking. More than 300 contemporary experimental films from nearly 50 countries were submitted to the first call for entries, from which 76 films were selected for the event. The two-day programme will feature over 7 hours of films in four different screening categories. These are:
I. Transmedial experimental cinema, video-, computer-and newmedia-arts
II. Ecological, biological and chemical processing based experimental cinema
III. Manually and directly manipulated experimental cinema
IV. Détournement, found footage and narrative experimental cinema
There will be experimental films from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Sweden, Taiwan, Ukraine, Sweden, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States.
The conference will feature presentations (in hungarian) by renowned independent artists and eminent lecturers and students from 9 universities who will present their research and work in the field of experimental cinema. Before the conference, there will be workshop programmes, and after the presentations, performative expanded screenings, experimental DJ sets and modular live techno shows will end the day.
The curator of Celluloidra Revolverrel is Mihály G. Horváth.
