Video art arrives in Rome at the first edition of the ArtRooms fair, which will be held in Rome from 2 to 4 March, at the Hotel The Church Palace, in via Aurelia 481.
14 video artists selected by a jury of experts and 6 invited “guest” artists go to design a particularly significant scenario of the trends in video art worldwide.

ARTROOMS is an innovative Art Fair in London and Rome. Its mission is to exhibit artworks in an intimate surrounding, shortening the distance between artists, curators and visitors. Applications for Artrooms Roma 2018 are now OPEN!

The Black Light Film & Video Series is a mobile microcinema based in Richmond Virginia. We coordinate with local venues to present monthly, submission based, film screenings. Miami New Media Festival (MNMF) is a public art project, created by Arts Connection Foundation, which aims to promote video, film and performance.
MNMF was founded in Miami Florida in 2006 by Arts Connection Foundation. The 10th Anniversary opening will be at the Perez Art Museum Miami on next Saturday, October 8th.
The event includes screening of selected video-art from 15 countries, video mapping, audiovisual and live performances from our guest artists.

Opening van de expositie Hotel Europa. Hierin presenteren jonge makers zich naast gevestigde videokunstenaars. Vijftig jaar geleden kwam het eerste draagbare videosysteem op de markt. En nu iedereen met een smartphone een filmpje kan maken, en nu de mixed mediakunst hoogtij voert, voelt videokunst pur sang als een terugkeer naar de roots.

Isle of Lox is a series of eight short episodes which follow the artists, their alter egos, and their many non-human companions as they journey through a mystical urban wasteland towards an unknown destination. Over the course of the series, the artists employ a variety of visual and formal techniques, which range from the colloquial to the baroque, from the absurd to the lyric.

The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College will host its third one-night only screening of video art by a national and international array of artists on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m.

Ein Tanz inmitten gesellschaftlicher Fragmente der 60er Jahre, als der auf den Mond gerichtete Fortschrittsglaube eine blühende Zukunft versprach. Eine Videoserie, die von der Reise zweier maskierter Held_innen durch eine urbane, sich wandelnde Landschaft berichtet. Zwei Arbeiten zu den Beziehungen zwischen Performance und Video und zu möglicher veränderter Zeitwahrnehmung durch Kunst nehmen uns mit auf eine Reise der gebrochenen Narrative.

CONFERENCE

Scholars, media theoreticians, journalists and artists will explore irony in Media Art in their keynote lectures at the festival conference. This approach has increasingly evolved as an artistic strategy, particularly with the advent of the so-called new media. It additionally embracescontemplating current economic, political and social conditions. In this connection, the speakers will also refer to contemporary debates, and broach the issue of the development and context of ironic and witty presentations in the Middle East.

In den Vorträgen der Konferenz des Festivals werden sich Wissenschaftler, Medientheoretiker, Journalisten und Künstler mit der Ironie in der Medienkunst und deren subversiven Interventionen auseinandersetzen.

Ironische Interventionen und die kleinen und großen Rebellionen in der Medienkunst sind in diesem Jahr Thema des 28. European Media Art Festival in Osnabrück, das vom 22. bis 26. April 2015 stattfindet, in der begleitenden Ausstellung bis zum 25. Mai 2015. Die Organisatoren:

Kalopsia are delighted to present ‘Contextiles-isation’, an exhibition that presents artistic textiles in the wider context of contemporary art, in line with the Edinburgh Festival at Kalopsia Gallery, Ocean Terminal.

Performance and Textiles are two strands of artistic practice that rarely meet, yet here they become entwined in a manner that seeks not only to return textiles to its rightful place in the orbit of contemporary art, but also to showcase the conceptual and communicational potential of the medium.
